Annual Meeting Notice

The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the annual meeting of The Friends of the Library Mooresville will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at 10:00 AM at the Mooresville Public Library, 304 S. Main Street, Mooresville, NC. 28115, in the downstairs Community Room.

The Board encourages you to attend this important meeting. At this meeting, we will provide reports on The Friend’s accomplishments over the past year, our project plans for the next year, and the financial condition of our association. We also will elect up to four (4) directors at the meeting. Per our bylaws, each director shall hold office for a three (3) year term and shall be on staggered terms, so that approximately on third (1/3) of the Board is elected each year.  Currently there is 1 opening for a one (1) year term ending in 2021 and 3 openings for a three (3) year term ending in 2023.  Board members must be paid members of the Friends of the Library Mooresville by January 31, 2020.  If you are interested in running for a position on the board, please contact Ann Pardue at friendsofmplnc@gmail.com by January 31, 2020. (deadline).

We will also take nominations for election of directors from the floor at the meeting.

If you would like to run for a Board of Directors position but are unable to attend the annual meeting, or are unsure about whether you will attend, please send a short paragraph with your name and why you would like to serve on the board to friendsofmplnc@gmail.com.  Also indicate if you are interested in a one- or three-year term.

After the business portion of the meeting, Andy Poore, Library Curator and Local Historian Mooresville Public Library, will speak to us about the history odf the Mooresville Public Library.
