Our Mission at The Friends of the Library, Mooresville is to support the Mooresville Public Library to promote literacy, education, technology, community, and culture among children and adults of every walk of life in the Mooresville area. The Friends meet most months on the second Monday of the month at 7PM at the Main Branch. Everyone is welcome. Please check the events calendar to confirm meeting dates, times, and locations. See more on our upcoming events page.

Our financial support enhances the incredible programming that the Mooresville Public Library currently offers. In 2026 we have donated $2000 for the summer reading program (see below), $750 to enable the library to create a welcome package for new library card holders, and $250 to the NC Public Library Directors Organization to support their funding of digital books. Follow this link to make an unrestricted gift online or for how to mail us a check.

To find out how to donate books, please go to the Used Book Donations page and read about used book donations and then check the upcoming events calendar to find out what dates and times that used books will be accepted. Also see the update about how to donate small numbers of books anytime in the bins next to the used book sale shelves.
In addition, we are looking for volunteers to assist with the used book donations. This is our biggest source of revenue. Volunteer slots are two hours twice per month. We an also use volunteers to help sort the donated books, which can be done anytime the library is open. The FOLM is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
We welcome new Friends and volunteers. You can keep up with the Friends and with all the activities at the library by subscribing to the Race City Reads newsletter sponsored by the Friends and published by the Library! Become a Friend today!
